We try to ensure all the information and description regarding our service offering on the site is accurate and truthful, however, mistakes can happen. If you are not happy with a description that we have used on our website to describe a service or product and feel it is inaccurate, please do let us know. We take our customer relations very seriously and welcome feedback from our customers.
Personal Opinion
Our training courses are based on our experience in conducting Image Consultancy services. Every effort is given in attention to detail and will demonstrate a fair analysis of your clients' most flattering colours and clothing. However, this is not an exact science and the advice given to your clients following your training course is built around recommendations. The client can then choose to what extent they choose to embrace these recommendations. This also applies to our seasonal swatch wallets which The Style and Colour Academy have created in-house to best reflect the seasonal drape set. This means that whilst the swatch wallets will share the same colour characteristics of each season for the Kettlewell drapes, they will not be the same as seasonal swatch wallets provided by other manufacturers.
Returns
If you purchase any items from our shop and change your mind, you must notify us within 14 days of receipt by email and the goods must be received by The Style and Colour Academy no more than 14 days thereafter. We must receive the goods in the same condition in which they were sent (i.e. in the original packaging including labelling). The return is at your own risk and you are responsible for any carriage costs. We are not responsible for returned goods lost during transit. We will refund you within 14 days of receiving the goods. Where returned goods are found to be damaged due to your fault, the goods will be returned to you without refund or credit.
Training Course Booking, Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy
Deposits
To secure your place on our Colour Analysis and Style Analysis training courses, a 50% deposit is required. As course places are limited and reserved specifically for you, this deposit is non-refundable, except where required by law.
Rescheduling
We understand that plans can change and will always do our best to reschedule your course to a more convenient date, subject to availability. Deposits may be transferred to a new date if you provide more than two weeks’ notice. Rescheduling requests made within two weeks of the course date may be treated as a cancellation (see below).
Cancellations
If you choose to cancel your course place with no intention to reschedule, the following charges will apply to cover the costs of reserving your place and any losses incurred:
- Less than two weeks’ notice: You will be charged 75% of the total course fee (less any deposit already paid
- Less than one week’s notice: You will be charged 90% of the total course fee (less any deposit already paid)
- These charges represent a genuine pre-estimate of the costs and losses we incur when a place cannot be re-filled.
Bespoke Training Days and Group Training
If you have booked a Bespoke Training Day or Group Training event, your session is reserved exclusively for you. We understand that plans can change, so the following terms apply:
- More than 72 hours’ notice: No cancellation fee.
- Between 72 and 24 hours’ notice: 50% of the training fee will be charged.
- Less than 24 hours’ notice or non-attendance: Up to 100% of the training fee may be charged, as this reflects the costs and losses incurred in reserving trainers, venues, and preparation time.
These charges represent a genuine estimate of our costs and lost opportunities when a booking cannot be re-filled. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Exceptional Circumstances
We recognise that genuine emergencies can occur. In exceptional circumstances, we may waive or reduce cancellation fees at our discretion.
Payment
Shopping with The Style and Colour Academy is secure.
- We only use approved platforms to process your payment details.
- We do not hold any of your financial data. Your data is only used by official web sites and the same technology is used by most web sites to safeguard your credit card information.
- Any customer data we collect is similarly protected against unauthorised access.
- When you place an order on our site you are effectively offering to buy the service/product which means that there is no binding contract unless we have cleared your payment.
- We generate an email during this time, but this reply simply confirms we have received your request. Acceptance of your order cannot occur prior to payment being confirmed.
Intellectual Property
As a member of The Style and Colour Academy, you understand that all collateral, content, and materials created by or for the Academy — including, but without limitation to swatch books, style workbooks, course manuals, training presentations, and any visual or written materials relating to style or colour — are proprietary.
No member will claim authorship or ownership of any such materials; copy, modify, reproduce, publish, distribute, sell, sublicense, or create derivative works from The Style
and Colour Academy’s intellectual property (IP). Any unauthorised use of the Academy IP or materials constitutes a breach of this Agreement and may result in legal action.
Privacy
The Style and Colour Academy is a limited business founded by Wendy Thompson and Jo Gaffney. We are committed to respecting your privacy and information provided to our business. We take your privacy of your personal information seriously. We may collect your name and contact information including email address on this website so that we can understand your needs and provide you with a better service, including to respond to your messages. We collect data for the purposes of providing services to our customers. This data is protected under the Data Protection Act and we never sell or share it with any other party.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions at the end of our email messages. Periodically we may send news emails about our services, events and any other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.
Limitation of Liability
Except as may be implied by law where you are dealing as a Consumer, in the event of any breach of these Terms and Conditions by us, your remedies shall be limited to damages which shall in no circumstances exceed the price of the goods and we shall under no circumstances be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage whatsoever.
Force Majeure
We are not be liable for any delay or failure to perform any of its obligations if the delay or failure results from events or circumstances outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God such as floods and snow, strikes, lock outs, accidents, war, fire, breakdown of plant or machinery or shortage or unavailability of raw materials from a natural source of supply, and we shall be entitled to a reasonable extension of its obligations.
Changes to Terms and Conditions
The Style and Colour Academy
are entitled to change these Terms and Conditions at any time.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and the parties hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
